How to choose and send flowers in Spain

You may know their favourite flowers, or you may simply know what you want to say. Start with the person receiving the gift, then compare the complete order and work out how they will receive it. These are the decisions worth making before you place your order.

How to choose flowers when you are unsure what to send

You do not need to know flower names to choose a thoughtful gift. Think of something you know about the recipient: a colour they often choose, flowers they keep at home, or whether they enjoy mixed arrangements. A personal preference is a more useful starting point than looking for a bouquet that suits everyone.

When you know their favourite flowers

Start with that flower and compare the available designs. Our rose collection includes different presentations. Read each product's composition and size options: rose bouquets can differ in quantity, accompanying flowers and price.

For example, Amor offers 6, 12, 18 or 24 red roses with eucalyptus and greenery. The main image shows the 6-rose option. If you change the quantity, check the selected price too; the vase is added separately. This is a useful choice when you want to decide the number of roses rather than leave the composition open.

  • 18 roses
  • 24 roses

When the occasion gives you a starting point

Browse birthday bouquets for a celebration, or compare styles among our most popular bouquets. The occasion can narrow your choice, while the recipient's taste helps you make the final decision. Birthday flowers can be understated or full of colour; a gift does not need to be large to carry an important message.

When you would like the florist to choose

With Florist's Choice, our team selects the flowers for your bouquet. You choose from the sizes offered on the product page. Flowers and colours vary with availability and the season, so the photographs are examples rather than a fixed list of flowers supplied with every order.

Choose this route if you are happy to leave the composition to us. If a particular flower or colour is essential, review a defined design or ask us before buying. A request in the order notes does not, by itself, confirm that a specific variety is available.

Compare the complete gift, including delivery

Before deciding between two bouquets, check the selected size, what each one includes and the delivery charge. A “from” price applies to a particular option. It does not tell you the cost of a larger size or mean that every object shown in a photograph is included.

What to check when comparing your order

Bouquet and sizeRead the composition and selected option. Check which size the image represents and the price for your choice.
Gift messageA card with your message is included with the bouquet. Sign it if you want the recipient to know who sent it.
Vase and other extrasExtras are selected and charged separately where available for your bouquet. Review the options on its product page.
DeliveryDelivery is additional to the bouquet and extras. Your date and selected service can affect the charge; confirm the total before payment.

If you have an overall budget, allow for delivery first, then decide on the size and extras. That lets you compare two complete gifts without finding at checkout that you were comparing different options.

We send you a photo of your bouquet before dispatch

You usually choose flowers from a catalogue image. At Persa, we also send you a photograph of the bouquet prepared for your order before it leaves. You can see the actual gift leaving our workshop, even when you cannot hand it over yourself.

Two photos with different purposes

We take the bouquet photo so you can see what we are sending. The Instax print is an optional paid extra: you choose and upload an image, and we print it to accompany the flowers. It could be a shared memory, a family picture or another image with meaning for the recipient. You do not need to buy an Instax print to receive the photo of your bouquet before dispatch.

From our workshop to their home

We are a family florist established in 1975. We prepare bouquets by hand in our workshop and arrange delivery with the carrier. There is a flower shop behind your order that you can contact for help choosing and preparing the gift.

Fresh bouquets are wrapped in kraft paper and protected in a Persa box. An Aquapack keeps the flowers hydrated during transit. We include your message in a black envelope and two flower-food sachets for caring for the flowers at home.

You can see the preparation video and packaging on our delivery page. This care prepares the flowers for their journey. Once received, they should be unpacked and cared for using the instructions supplied with the bouquet.

The date and delivery details matter as much as the flowers

Our delivery area is mainland Spain. The current service does not include the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla. If you are unsure about an address or postcode, ask Persa before ordering. The city pages linked from this collection help you browse destinations; the calendar shows available dates for your order.

  1. Choose the bouquet and its options. Add your message and any extras you would like to include.
  2. Check the date in your cart. The calendar shows available dates. Read the delivery conditions when planning around a particular occasion.
  3. Review the recipient's details. Include their name, full address, postcode and a phone number they can answer.
  4. Confirm the service and total at checkout. Delivery is charged in addition to the bouquet and extras.

Plan a surprise someone can receive

You can keep the reason for the gift secret while checking that someone will be at the address. Include the building number, floor and door. For a workplace, add the name reception uses to identify the recipient. Give a useful delivery contact number; your own number may not be enough if you are far away and cannot answer on their behalf.

For a hotel or holiday rental, check that staff accept flowers, confirm the reservation name and make sure the recipient will still be staying there on the selected date. For an office, check parcel acceptance and whether the recipient will be present. Reception arrangements vary, and supplying an address does not confirm access to a building. Our guide to sending flowers to a hotel or holiday rental in Spain helps with that situation.

Your words make the gift personal

A message card is included with the bouquet. A few specific words can be enough: recall a conversation, thank them for something they did or mention what you are celebrating. Sign the message if you want them to know who sent the flowers.

  • For a birthday: “Happy birthday, Anna. Thinking of all the good times we have shared, and the ones still to come. Love, Sam.”
  • To say thank you: “Thank you for checking in this week. It meant a lot. Sending these with love, Alex.”

When planning a birthday flower surprise, think about where the recipient will put the bouquet. If you do not know whether they have a vase, review the optional vases on the product page. A printed photo can add a shared memory; other extras may suit someone whose preferences you know. Choose what makes sense for the recipient without feeling you need to add everything.

Sending flowers to Spain from another country

Where you place the order and where the flowers are delivered are separate details. You can order from outside Spain for someone in mainland Spain. Enter your own billing details and the recipient's delivery details in the appropriate fields. Prices are shown in euros; review the payment methods offered at checkout.

You can shop in English whether you live abroad or in Spain. We offer English support until 9 pm mainland Spain time. You can leave a chat message at any time, although an open message channel does not mean an immediate reply outside staffed hours.

If the flowers need to reach someone during a short stay or for a particular celebration, check the available delivery date before arranging the rest of the surprise. An order delivered in Spain follows the Spanish delivery service conditions even when you pay from another country. If someone helping you choose prefers Spanish, share the Spanish flower delivery collection with them.

After the flowers arrive, and when you need help

Use a clean vase with fresh water for cut flowers. Trim the stems, remove leaves that would sit below the waterline and refresh the water regularly. Keep the bouquet away from direct sunlight and heat, and follow the instructions supplied. Vase life depends on the flowers and their care; different bouquets develop differently.

If the recipient is not home, the carrier calls the supplied contact number. Make sure it is a number they can answer. Delivery arrangements and attempts depend on the service; check the delivery information for the applicable conditions.

If there is a problem, contact us with your order number and explain what happened. An incorrect address or phone number, a reception desk that will not accept the parcel and a transport problem need different checks. We will help you review the order and the next steps.

For help choosing or checking an order, visit our contact page, message us on WhatsApp at +34 669 284 261 or call the shop on +34 950 120 211.

Questions before ordering flowers

Do you deliver everywhere in Spain?

Our current coverage is mainland Spain. It does not include the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure about a postcode.

Where can I see available delivery dates?

In the cart calendar, before payment. Dates depend on availability. Our delivery page explains the service conditions.

Are delivery and a vase included in the bouquet price?

Your message card is included. Delivery is added to the order; vases and other extras are selected separately where available. Check the chosen size and final total before paying.

Is the bouquet photo the same as the Instax print?

No. We send you a photo of the prepared bouquet before dispatch. The Instax print is an image you upload for us to print and include with the gift as a paid extra.

Can I order if I live outside Spain?

Yes, for delivery to someone in mainland Spain. Enter your billing details separately from the recipient's delivery details and review the payment in euros. You can shop in English or Spanish.

What if no one is there to receive the flowers?

Check the recipient's availability for the chosen date when planning the order. The carrier calls the supplied number if the recipient is absent. If a problem remains, contact Persa with your order number and consult the applicable delivery conditions on our delivery page.
