Start with the container and the viewing angle
Measure the vase opening and height before ordering. A narrow container needs fewer stems and benefits from flowers with strong individual presence. A wide container needs more volume or several points of support so the arrangement does not look sparse. If you plan to divide the flowers among several tables, calculate the stems per container before choosing a pack.
Consider the viewing angle too. For a centrepiece, distribute the flowers so the arrangement does not have only one front. Against a wall, you can concentrate height and volume towards the viewer. These practical decisions are more reliable than assigning one universal meaning to each species.
Carnations in a fixed 20-stem format
Coloured Carnations was offered in 20-stem packs in cream, red, pink or white on 22 September. Every public variant appeared available. The product page also says the flowers arrive with greenery.
This is the most direct of the three choices when you want to repeat one colour across several containers or work with more stems without mixing species. Twenty stems could be divided into small groups across multiple vases, for example; the exact result depends on each opening and how much space you leave between flowers.
The limitation is that the current page does not offer a smaller pack. If you only need one spot of colour in a narrow container, decide how you will use the remaining stems. Gerberas for adjusting quantity and colour
Loose Gerberas was offered in 6, 12 or 20 stems in white, pink, red and fuchsia. All twelve quantity-and-colour combinations appeared available in the public check.
That range of variants makes it easier to fit the order to the container. Six stems can work when each bloom should read separately; 12 or 20 let you repeat the colour and build more volume. The product page describes flower heads of approximately 10 to 12 cm, so leave room between them instead of packing them like small filler flowers.
Gerberas require two decisions at once: colour and quantity. If you will divide them, write down the number of containers first and divide the stems. If the result is uneven or leaves one group too sparse, choose the next pack size or use fewer vases.
Sunflowers for height and a clear focal point
Premium Sunflowers showed two available variants: Original with 6 stems and Deluxe with 12. We use those public variants as the current reference because the older product description still names different quantities.
Sunflowers draw attention with fewer units than the other choices. They are best when you want height and a recognisable yellow focal point, but they need a stable vase with an opening that does not compress the stems. The current lead image shows six tall sunflowers in the Sakura vase; use it as a visual scale reference, not a promise that another container will create the same spread.

What the real orders contribute
We reviewed a twelve-month Shopify extract closed on 5 September 2026. After excluding tests, cancellations, point-of-sale orders and unpaid financial states, 593 eligible orders remained. At least one of the three products appeared in 37 distinct orders: Loose Gerberas in 17, Premium Sunflowers in 13 and Coloured Carnations in 7.
The variant detail confirms that the comparison is not built from products with no recorded purchases. Recorded gerbera purchases covered all three quantities and all four colours; for sunflowers, 10 of the 14 units were the 12-stem format and 4 were the 6-stem format; recorded carnation purchases included pink, cream and red. These figures do not establish that the orders were for home arranging, that one format is better or which option people preferred. They do not replace today's availability either.
A simple decision rule
Choose carnations if your priority is having 20 stems in one colour. Compare gerberas if you want finer control between 6, 12 or 20 stems and four colours. Choose sunflowers if you prefer 6 or 12 tall stems with a strong yellow focal point.
